Girls Varsity Tennis · Girls Tennis wins second round CIF match


Claremont hosted their second round CIF match against San Juan Hills High School and secured a hard fought 11-7 victory. In an outstanding performance from every team member, it was the three doubles teams that accounted for 9 of the 11 points earned. The most convincing doubles performance came from Senior Astrid Petropoulos and Junior Camille Movafagian who only lost 6 games in their three sets. The dominate play from Seniors Kristin Hernandez and Emma Berens and Sophomores Jahday Drewery and Salma Mohideen completed the 9-0 shut-out on the doubles side of the match. Goldie La (So) won two of her three singles matches to get the Pack to 11 sets overall.

The Pack moves on to the quarterfinals Monday against La Canada High School. It is the second year in a row that the Girls Varsity Tennis Team has reached the quarterfinals of CIF.
