With a low team score of 25 points, Claremont High School’s girls’ Varsity cross country team won the Palomares League team title Saturday, October 27 at Whittier Narrows.
Claremont’s 25 points won the race, followed by Ayala (58 points), Colony (102), Alta Loma (108), Bonita (118), and Glendora (125).
Maddie Coles paced the CHS runners with her 2nd place finish in 17:11 over the 3-mile course, just seven seconds behind winner Mikaela Ramirez of Ayala (17:04). Behind Coles for CHS were Sydney Hwang (4th, 17:20), Azalea Segura-Mora (5th, 17:34), Kalinda Reynolds (6th, 17:35), and Julia Marriott (8th, 17:54).
CHS does not compete this coming Nov. 3 weekend, but will resume competition on Saturday, November 10 at the CIF Prelims in Riverside.
